Auckland City Hospital provides electrophysiology (EP) procedures for people residing in the Northern Region and is a national service paediatric congenital cardiac patients. Electrophysiology are primarily therapeutic typically undertaken with view to ablation. When ablation not delivered, these considered diagnostic. This retrospective study was explore clinical characteristics outcomes of patients who underwent diagnostic EP study. The Registry reviewed an procedure without from 1 June 2020 31 December 2021 were included. Patient characteristics, indications, prioritisation, indication, reason no ablation, antiarrhythmic medications, outcomes, complications reviewed. There 912 procedures, 79 (8.7%) studies alone. Patients aged 3–83 years (median, 41). Ethnicities included NZ European (54%) Māori (18%). indication 56 assessment palpations. most common inducible tachycardia (n=36). Other reasons accessory pathway identified, high-risk due proximity AV node, intended (i.e., VT stimulation). three reported complications: one moderate pericardial effusion that did require intervention, VT/VF arrest, access site haematoma. Diagnostic remain acceptable complication rates.
